Assorted tidbits of information

I got a call on Friday June 2nd about my shoes. Apparently they will arrive in about 10 days. Funny, that was the original arrival due date. 31 days later they are now expected to arrive in 10 days. I'll let you know how that works out.

Went to the college's photo program's student gallery show opening June 2nd. It was very interesting to see the variety of work on display. Their printer this year is turning out some great prints. I was very impressed. It never did work very well for us. Lucky for them; they are spending $6 (apparently) to have a photo printed that would have cost us $30 from a local shop. grr. Ahhh well, what can you do. They look like a very creative group. Much moreso than we were. We were very commercial oriented and fairly "safe" for the most part.

I really should take more photos. I really should put my darkroom to use as well.

Sunday June 4th we took part in the 3rd (at least) annual dragon boat races at Comox Lake. It one of the demonstrations at the rod and gun club's annual open house. Somewhat strange considering we do not ever have the boats there at any other time of the year. But that's ok. There is talk of actually having an official festival there next year and that would be cool. It's a good venue; lots of room and gorgeous scenery and real washroom facilities (gotta love that-D boat festivals sure make sure you get your fill of portapotties for the year. Yuck)! We had 5 teams this year which was great. It's just a fun day and we have two boats so they set up a round robin schedule and every team races every other team. We were undivided. Yay us! Photos will be forthcoming.
Our chant in call and response style:
"1,2,3,4,5,6, Dragonflies!
Dragon
(reach!)
Dragon
(dig!)
Dragon
(Go!)
Dragon
(Flies!)
Reach! Dig! Go! DRAGONFLIES!"

we like to keep it short, sweet, and to the point. Yay for Maggie for the composition
