Summer's End Randomness
This is a preview...I'll get to the rest of the wrap-up later...at some point...honest I will...
~ Don't save goat's milk soap. it goes bad.
~ There is a shampoo bar from the shop LUSH that actually works as a shampoo and conditioner. I've never found a 2-in-1 that actually works before.
~ Once you taste a bit of "glory" it will ruin you - I know that silver was a good div for us at the D Boat festival in Vic, but after being in the Gold in Nan (smaller festival) really took a bit of the shine off...
~ YAY. Best farm summer ever. Hands down. 'Nuff said.
~ Shopping in the kids section of MEC is great, however it's a little disconcerting when you find 9 year olds with the same clothing as you.
~ It's fun to watch giant sandcastles be invaded by the rising tide.
~ Business texts are almost as expensive as Math and Science texts. Yuck. Who would have thought I'd actually miss something about being an English student!?
~ Bunbun has a new home; he now lives with a 5 month old black rabbit named Ellie and they are very happy.
~ I don't care if cotton candy is pure sugar and I'm 27; I'm going to enjoy it anyways!!
~ I love new shoes.
~ I don' love the Rogers wireless dealer in Courtenay.
I think that's all for now...I gotta go pack.
Going kayaking :)
See ya in a few days!

Sorry;
Two silly posts in one day and nothing of substance. I apologize. I'm working up to the good bits; I've been away from it for so long I must ease in gently. Or something like that. At any rate, I just Couldn't not post this one. And for those of you that don't know me all that well I've been coveting a small convertable ever since I saw my first Alfa Romeo Spider (at about 8 years of age). My bro has a Miata that he lets me drive if I wash it for him and there's a certain Honda S2000 I get to drive every now and then; one day though I will get my own.
I'm a Mazda Miata!
I'm a Mazda Miata!
You like to soak up the sun, but your tastes are down to earth. Everyone thinks you're cute. Life is a winding road, and you like to take the curves in stride. Let other people compete in the rat race - you're just here to enjoy the ride.
Take the Which Sports Car Are You? Quiz
(P.S. EvilMonkey did the quiz for me and ended up with a Mazda RX-8 "You're sporty, yet practical, and you have a style of your own. You like to have fun, and you like to bring friends along for the ride, but when it comes time for everyday chores, you're willing to do your part." He chose things I wouldn't ahve for me, but the end result is also pretty much as "me" as I get...interesting)
My "Life Path Number"
| Your Life Path Number is 5 |
![]() You love life - new adventures, new people, new ideas. You are very curious, and you crave novelty in all forms. You tend to make friends easily, and you enjoy the company of all types of people. In love, you are fun and even a bit intoxicating. But you won't stick around for long. You are impulsive and spontaneous - which sometimes leads you to do things you regret.Sometimes you can be overindulgent with food, sex, or drugs. You have many talents, so many that you are often scattered and unfocused. |

Syringes and SPD's
PART 1
Do you ever find yourself suddenly seeing yourself in your current situation from an outsider's perspective? Or as if you have stepped back a few steps and are viewing events from a perspective similar to that of memory?
A moment of clarity. Perhaps nothing more than an altered vision of reality. Either way, slightly disconcerting.
Sweet Home Alabama on the radio, a syringe of antibiotics in one hand and the other gripping the collar of Bob the goat, I'm willing him to back up just a bit more so he will have effectively wedged his hind-quarters into the corner of his stall, thereby rendering himself immobile because I've already got his front shoulders trapped between my knees. Shishka (goat #2 in the same stall) is snacking on my hair and I'm mentally cursing myself for not tying it back and for forgetting to give Bob his antibiotics while there was still someone else at work to help me.
Suddenly I wonder why. I'm not a vet. I don't intend to be one. I don't raise goats. Why on earth am I currently locked in a goat pen attempting to give a goat a needle?
A funny picture I am too; baby blue baby-T "STAFF" shirt, hibiscus-flowered blue boardshorts, a goat chewing on my hair, another between my knees, and third looking on.
And I'd be laughing at me from this perspective if I wasn't at the moment very involved in the proceedings. Did I mention the questionable smell emanating from something relatively close by? Goats have this unfortunate habit of relieving themselves at the most inopportune moments. Very sternly I had to inform Shishka, Bob, and their stall-mate Gonzo that none of them had better have had anything to do with this most unfortunate olfactory disturbance-not until I've removed myself from their quarters. As if they are listening. Note to Bob: that isn't going to happen until the aforementioned antibiotics are safely under his skin.
PART 2
I went for a ride after work. I can't remember the last time I went for a ride. I think it was on the trails behind the high school at some point after Christmas. For no reason today I decided that Bike was far too neglected and that I should change that. It possibly had something to do with the doughnuts Miss Synchro brought to work today. 4 people do not need to have 12 doughnuts in the office. It's just too tempting. I do believe I managed to limit myself to one and a half. However, there was chocolate in my coffee this morning and a granola bar in my lunch, so... far too much sugar consumed nonetheless.
I had forgotten how peaceful it is to ride out cape Lazo way. I had forgotten how friendly people on bikes are. They always nod and smile. At least they do here. And how good it feels to focus on making your legs and pedals work as one; the act of envisioning your feet moving in perfect circles...driving the pedals around over and over and over again...and then turning the vision into reality. Aiming for perfect rhythm regardless of less than perfect terrain. I don't really need them maybe, but I love my clipless pedals. I've never understood why more people don't attach themselves to their pedals. SPDs make sense. It's more efficient. Isn't it? I think it is.
(Jsut don't' try to hop around in circles on your bike on the road the first day you have new clipless pedals. Learn to release them consistently first. Preferably on grass.)

Am I?
"Every time I see you you're eating."
Who says that to someone she doesn't know?
What do you say to that? Never mind the fact that she wasn't the first person to say that to me. Nor that it's not that surprising an observation; it seems I am always eating at work.
But really, would you say that to someone you were only acquainted with by sight?

One little piggy

When I get bored at work I take pictures. Gotta love my job. This is one of our happy three little pigs. Patchouli loves to have her tummy rubbed; so if you come visit me at work give her side a good scratch and she'll roll over onto it so you can do her tummy too :)

farm vs dance
How is it I work with two people (and only 2 other people) who happen to have the same names as people I already know? Not only that, but both pairs are differentiated with the same supplementary adjectives. There is farm-Erin and dance-Erin and farm-Robyn and dance-Robin. This amuses me.
Maybe because it's midnight and I haven't eaten dinner yet.

Subconscious Negativity
First of all I have to point out that I've been getting lots of comments on my shoes, good comments :) I admit it. I like attention. Though I can take no credit for the fabulousness of my shoes. Only for choosing them. I think my favourite comment so far has been
"Did I mention you have a truly fabulous new pair of dancing shoes?"
Why yes, actually, you had. I don't mind hearing it again though.
*big grin*
What does this have to do with negativity and the subconscious? It was pointed out to me today that the only time I include extended references to specific people in my blog is when they are people I would prefer not to be around. Said person knew I had been enjoying my new shoes and attention and they mentioned that there was nothing in my blog about that.
Why is this?
I don't know. Perhaps there is more negativity in my personality than many people see. I know it is there. I'm thankful though that people don't seem to see it. I certainly don't want it to be there. I can claim to come by it honestly, though that doesn't mean that I want to succumb to it. Apparently it chooses to manifest itself in my choice of blog subjects.
Long ago (about 3 months after starting to keep a blog in my msn space), I once said that I was trying to keep my negative comments to a minimum in my blog because I felt that I was doing a lot of complaining and blog-grumping. I thought I had, for the most part, managed not to blog-grump. Instead I have inadvertently left the good people out of the cyber-story of my life. Oh dear, because my life is actually very full of many good positive people. Far more good and positive people than negative ones.
Must remember to focus on the positive influences and not succumb to influence of the negative.
