Now that I have a summer job in a nice new building downtown instead of a barn, and my responsibilities involve putting information into a database, papers in the right folders in the right order, and passing on information to people who want it; I suddenly have a "real" job.
"Oohh L.T. has grown up..." (they said today)
Never mind the fact that up until this point my summer employment involved ensuring the well-being of a number of animals (borrowed) and children (also essentially borrowed) under my care at any given moment of the day which I consider to fall into the realm of a significantly higher amount of responsibility.
Apparently that can't class as a real job, but this one does even though it is also only a summer stint.
Bull$hit.

Cheers,
Caring for animals and children, especially borrowed ones, is important and definitely qualifies as a "real" job. Don't listen to those who say otherwise. :)
