"Ick"onomics

I gave up trying to study for my economics 110 midterm last night at about midnight. The more I read, the more confused I got, the more I tried to memorize, the less it all seemed to stick in my brain. I had earlier attempted to study by working through the online practice questions that were handily supplied on the textbook's companion website. That turned out to be one of those "good in theory - not so good in practice" situations.

Thankfully, if you bomb the midterm you can redeem yourself on the final and your midterm mark won't count. I like that. It was that thought that kept me from getting very frustrated yesterday.

10am this morning. We're still standing outside the locked classroom waiting for the exam invigilator to show up as our instructor is away this week so he moved the midterm one day sooner and arranged for someone to come and administer it ...

10:10 am this morning. Someone goes to find out what's going on. Grumblings about having to do this on Thursday start to rumble through the crowd. It seems as though most of them already have 2 midterms on Thursday; they aren't too keen on having 3 in a row. The girl beside me in annoyed that it might ruin her weekend-she had apparently intended to celebrate Hallowe'en by spending a good deal of it drunk. Oh riiiight, I'm back in first year classes again...*rolls eyes*

10:15 am. The department head shows up and says "since your exam hasn't shown up, nor the person to administer it you should probably count on having it on Tuesday."

Goody. Add one more day to how behind we already are in this class.

Later, I heard her say something about having an associate degree in psych - so she's the equivalent of a third year :S
